Life is the Theater, and all of us are Actors on its stage. Over the centuries, in theaters of the world, masks were created to emphasize human emotions or outline the characters. It always mesmerized me to see those masks on stage or in museums. And it made me think of modern times. We still use the self created masks, when facing life. Some time hiding our true feeling or selves. Presenting just an image of what we want this world to see.
Keeping a mask on while accessing a moment discreetly.
I always wandered what the most trusted and powerful truth speaker to the kings really felt when left in silent solitude…

Yes, there comes a time in a woman’s life when she has to stop and listen. Hear that repetitive tick tock. Decisions based on one hollowing sense of fear have to be made… Or not?
Following the horror of September 11th 2001, there was a lock down in Manhattan for a few days after the towers fell.. Period of fortifying everything that is Manhattan Island - The famous bustling Big Apple, locked down and quiet. I never thought there would be another time like this. Until now - The Virus..
What started the series all those years ago had to be continued …

This particular series was inspired by an amazing exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art called “The Last Knight”. That exhibit showed some of the most amazing pieces of armor commissioned by the last Emperor of Rome - Maximilian I. Some of it was so intricate and elegant, I thought that If Women would be allowed to be warriors back then, surely, that kind of armor would have suited them perfectly. Impowering elegance. This allegory brought on by this amazing show resonated with me deeply resulting in the ongoing series I have been working on contentiously. The series is dedicated to Women and Fashion thru the ages.

It is so breathtaking to catch a sudden moment when a light hits a fading flower just so... And brings all the glorious beauty back for just this stunning slightly lingering moment..
I think I paint too many Flowers sometimes. But I can not help it! Nature is mystical, and, oh, so talented! I keep painting to try and recreate this miraculous beauty it creates.

It always amazed me how humans tried to train, make up and decorate animals to look and act like them. Sometimes for amusement, sometimes out of love and seldom out of fear. Whatever was the reason, those incredible efforts always left unforgettable human elements on all creatures that we tried to tame.
Simple portrait of a Fencing Jacket I noticed at the Met Museum’s Armory. It looked to me as if it took a breath once in a wile. Alive with history and full of beauty.
